To best explain how the Wheeler Method works, let me use an example. My friend Leila is a lovely professional woman here in town. She’s tall, blonde, quite beautiful, and almost always smiling. But behind that smile she has a secret. It is the same secret I had for years. She lives most of her life in pain. When I asked her where the pain was, she said it was between her shoulder blades, in her neck and down the sides of her back. At my strong suggestion, she came to a Wheeler Method class. She was a little leery since she hadn’t worked out in awhile, but I assured her that the class was designed so that almost anyone can do it. We all know there’s no such thing as a guarantee in life – particularly when it comes to the human body, but I was quite sure the class would do her a world of good.
Our class took about an hour, and when we finished, I asked how she felt. She said in the past she’d had an MRI and been to the Mayo Clinic for this pain, but had gotten minimal relief. After one Wheeler Method class, her back felt better than she could remember in a long time. If she keeps doing the class, she will probably end up like me: Pain free. No wait, I mean PAIN FREE!!
So, how does the Wheeler Method work? What is it exactly? Here’s the recipe. Take two highly experienced fitness professionals (Sandy and Lisa), with 50 years of experience between them. Make sure they’ve both had exciting lives and a few injuries – so they are both in pain. Also make sure that between them, they have taught every class you can imagine, from yoga to tai chi to pilates to dance to pump to gymnastics and every kind of aerobics. Then send them to Doctors, and have the “treatment” for their pain not work.
Sandy has seven world records in skydiving and is a retired airline captain. Lisa is a former gymnast and triathlete. This gives us two really smart women determined to get out of pain, with the knowledge and experience to make it happen. The result is the Wheeler Method, a movement based system that is neither yoga, nor pilates, nor tai chi, but rather a revolutionary amalgamation of modern fitness using just a chair and a towel as props (and a mat if the floor is disgusting.)
Interestingly, while The Wheeler Method works wonders for back pain of all kinds, it also brings relief to folks with all kinds of ailments. Here are just a few of the success stories we’ve heard:
