A few months ago, I started to experience pain in my hips, especially on my right side. Sometimes when I stood up, or climbed up or down the stairs, it seemed that my hip joint would slip out of place. That had bothered me for just a few weeks when you had us do an especially challenging pose with our legs spread wide apart. We seemed to hold that position forever. Then you had us lean to one side and then the next, with our legs still excruciatingly wide apart. Well that’s how it felt to me anyway. As usual, you said to just accept that we would feel that way for awhile. I thought, “You have no idea how difficult this is for me.”
Thankfully, I managed to hold the positions for as long as I did. I forget how long it took after the class, perhaps a day or two, but the pain and slippage stopped. It hasn’t returned. I don’t remember your doing that exact exercise before that day or since. That’s why I believe it was a gift from God, delivered by you.
But, it’s not only the physical benefits of your class that I appreciate. Two weeks ago, I had a case of the doldrums. I was at a low mentally and spiritually, and I’m quite sure those closest to me felt the effects of my unpleasant mood. I prayed that I would wake up with the energy to go to your class, and sure enough, I did. By the time it was over, I felt refreshed and much more positive and energized.
